In the Elder Law Clinic, Brandeis law students help senior citizens navigate sensitive legal matters, including estate planning, guardianship, powers of attorney, and related concerns. Students work directly with clients to prepare essential legal documents and provide thoughtful, compassionate guidance—all under faculty supervision.

This clinic gives students the chance to make a meaningful impact while building practical skills in planning-focused areas of law.


For Prospective Law Students

If you're drawn to elder care, estate planning, or client-centered legal work, this clinic offers hands-on experience in one of the most personal and impactful areas of law.

Students develop skills in:

  • Drafting wills, powers of attorney, and other legal documents
  • Interviewing and counseling elderly clients
  • Estate planning and guardianship procedures
  • Managing cases with care and professionalism

The Elder Law Clinic provides free legal services to senior citizens in need of assistance with estate planning, guardianship, and other elder-focused legal issues. Services are delivered by law students under the supervision of licensed attorneys, with a focus on respect, clarity, and care.
