At the Brandeis School of Law, we understand that law school brings both opportunity and challenge. We are committed to supporting students’ mental, physical, and emotional well-being through a combination of on-campus programming, university services, and trusted external resources.

This page provides an overview of wellness support available to our students. Full details and appointment tools are shared on the student intranet.


Wellness at Brandeis

The law school offers regular programming to help students maintain balance and prioritize well-being. These efforts aim to normalize help-seeking, promote healthy habits, and build community.

Highlights include:

  • Monthly Wellness Wednesdays
  • Mighty Mental/Physical March wellness series
  • Faculty and staff training on supporting students in distress
  • Mental health education and awareness campaigns

In addition to campus-based support, we help students explore respected legal profession–specific resources, including:


Counseling Services

All currently enrolled law students have access to University of Louisville Counseling Center services at no cost. Available support includes:

  • Individual counseling sessions
  • Mental health screenings and assessments
  • Crisis response and urgent care
  • Referrals to outside providers

The Counseling Center protects confidentiality, and no information is shared without written permission.

Student Health & Insurance

Campus Health Services provides primary medical care to students and administers UofL’s major medical insurance plan. Coverage includes:

  • Routine and preventive care
  • Specialist referrals
  • Vaccinations and lab testing
  • Health education and wellness resources

Spouses of insured students are eligible for Campus Health services. Children under age 18 are not eligible to be seen at Campus Health.

Mental Health Screenings

Free, confidential online mental health screenings are available to all students. These screenings can help students better understand their mental health and determine whether additional support is needed.
