Student attorneys from the University of Louisville Louis D. Brandeis School of Law’s Entrepreneurship Law Clinic recently shared their legal knowledge with aspiring business leaders at Western Kentucky University’s Gordon Ford College of Business.

Prabha Rajasekaran and Savannah Thomerson presented three well-received sessions on “Forms of Ownership” as part of the clinic’s growing outreach initiatives. Their presentations helped WKU student entrepreneurs better understand the legal foundations of launching and structuring a business.

The Entrepreneurship Law Clinic, led by Director William Metcalf, provides Brandeis students with hands-on experience while serving the community. Student lawyers operating under a limited practice license offer pro bono legal services to entrepreneurs – including entity-formation guidance, drafting organizational and transactional documents, contract review and negotiation, and advising on trademark registration and Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) protection.

Through outreach efforts like this one, clinic students not only sharpen their practical skills but also advance Brandeis Law’s mission as the people’s law school — expanding access to legal knowledge and empowering the next generation of innovators.

Rajasekaran and Thomerson’s work reflects the clinic’s commitment to service, professionalism and real-world impact. Their leadership this year continues to strengthen the bridge between legal education and Kentucky’s entrepreneurial community.
