Luxembourg
Study law in the heart of Europe’s legal and political institutions.
Sidebar
The Brandeis School of Law offers a study abroad opportunity at the University of Luxembourg Faculty of Law, located in one of the most important hubs of the European Union. Known for its proximity to major European courts and financial institutions, Luxembourg provides students with a global perspective on law, policy, and governance.
While many courses are taught in French, select law classes and a full Master’s program in Space, Communication & Media Law are available in English. The law school also accommodates students who are not fluent in French by offering flexibility for courses partially taught in both languages. Students may earn J.D. credit for approved coursework completed in Luxembourg.
Tuition & Expenses
Brandeis Law students continue to pay tuition at the University of Louisville and do not pay additional tuition to the University of Luxembourg. Some program or administrative fees may apply.
Students are responsible for their own travel, health insurance, and living expenses. Public transportation is widely available and reliable, and students typically do not need a car. University housing is available, and the university provides resources to help students estimate cost of living.
Eligibility & Application
A maximum of two UofL law students may participate in this program each academic year. Students must be in good academic standing and must receive approval for credit transfer.
To apply, contact Professor JoAnne Sweeny. Students interested in either a semester exchange or the English-taught master’s program should plan ahead and begin the application process early.
